Kyrgyzstani Women in STEM

In Kyrgyzstan, Gulnura Sulaimanova worked as a family doctor in the Issyk-Kul region. Currently, she is studying for her master's degree at one of the top universities in Japan – the Tokyo Medical and Dental University. The university is equipped with modern facilities and renowned professors from famous universities such as Johns Hopkins University and graduates from Ivy League universities like Harvard.

Gulnura dedicates all her free time to studying. Additionally, she volunteers and teaches "scientific writing" at one of the universities in Kyrgyzstan. She has chosen an interesting research topic dedicated to Kyrgyz women. The topic is titled "Domestic Violence against Pregnant Women" and is one of the pressing issues in modern Kyrgyzstan. According to her, the lack of education and narrow-mindedness are key factors contributing to unplanned pregnancies. Therefore, she urges all girls to strive for knowledge and education.

Gulnura also wishes for more girls to receive education abroad and return to their homeland. In turn, upon completing her studies, Gulnura plans to return to her work as a family doctor in the Issyk-Kul region. In the future, she considers the possibility of pursuing further education in a doctoral program.
