JICA President Tanaka Akihiko held an online meeting with World Bank Group President David Malpass as a part of the JICA-World Bank Group Deep Dive meeting, which has been held every year since 2014 between the two institutions.

Both Presidents acknowledged future collaboration on pressing issues such as food security, climate change, and energy transition.

Regarding the damage caused by the recent earthquake in Turkey🇹🇷 and Syria🇸🇾, both Presidents acknowledged the possibility of collaboration between the two institutions during the restoration and reconstruction phases.

They also exchanged views on critical debt issues affecting developing countries and those countries’ views on their financial situation.
