November 7, 2024, Astana hosted the VI International Energy Saving Forum “Energy Efficient Partnership: New Reality”. The Forum focused on digitalization of industry with an emphasis on energy efficiency, the role of energy saving in low-carbon development, environmental protection, CBAM and ESCO mechanisms, as well as energy efficiency in the public sector and buildings. Special attention was paid to the issues of informing and involving the population in energy saving processes. The forum was attended by representatives of ministries and government agencies, local executive bodies, business community, associations, leading manufacturers of energy efficient technologies and equipment, as well as representatives of international organizations, including JICA Kazakhstan Field Office. The forum was conducted by JSC "Electric power and energy saving development institute", a subordinate organization of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of partners:
• The project “Eastern Partnership and Central Asia FELICITY II Program - advising cities and municipalities on energy finance for low-carbon development”, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) together with the European Investment Bank (EIB),
• German Energy Agency DENA,
• Schneider Electric,
• Nazarbayev University.
Mr. YONEYA Masahiro, Project Manager for JICA Project for Promoting Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) Improvement in Kazakhstan, a specialist of the Pacific Consultants Co. LTD, made a presentation on “Japan’s Energy Saving Policy” at the plenary session “Energy Efficiency Partnership: A New Reality”.
JICA Kazakhstan Field Office, received a letter of appreciation “for fruitful cooperation in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement” from Mr. Tolegen Omarbekov, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Electric power and energy saving development institute".
