As part of her working visit to China Kazakh Culture and Information Minister Aida Balayeva met with China’s Culture and Tourism Minister Sun Yeli to debate the development of cultural centres on a parity basis, Kazinform News Agency cites Kazakh Culture and Information Ministry.
Today relations between Kazakhstan and China are developing in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness and long-term strategic partnership.
As part of the official visit to China Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping in 2022 agreed on building cultural centres on a parity basis. This step stresses the need to develop a cultural dialogue between the two states and demonstrates the striving of both sides to deepen cooperation in the spheres of art and culture.
Besides, the two ministers discussed the implementation of the said agreements and further cooperation between the ministries. In particular, the ministries will sign cultural agreements to organize concert tours, and exhibitions, to translate and publish classic literature and other projects. They also debated organizational issues concerning selecting the site, a concept, and legal aspects of opening the Culture Centre in China.
The main cooperation priorities are museum affairs and librarianship, music and cinema art, language studies, etc.
Minister Sun Yeli said the meeting laid a solid foundation for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
In Beijing, the Kazakh minister also met with head of the Chinese National Radio and Television Administration Cao Shumin. As stated there, the TV channels of Kazakhstan and China developed several joint projects. To boost cooperation Cao Shumin proposed to produce new content such as mini-TV series, and videos about the countries and broadcast them on TV.
Aida Balayeva offered to support the rotation of feature, documentary and animation films on China’s TV channels and contribute to joint TV dramas and videos about the country’s tourist attractions and cultural sites.
The director of Global China Media Corporation, Shen Haixiong, suggested signing an agreement on the production of documentaries to promote cultural heritage and values of the two countries.
